Big "R" aka TuckerMch aka My Dad!

Postby karenjonesturkel » Wed May 07, 2003 6:27 am

Oh heavens! This is too amusing! Someone questioning my Dad's authority to comment on all things Tucker! Let me tell you - he is THE foremost Tucker expect alive in the World today! He has lived, breathed and ate Tucker since I was in elementary school! It's not too many people who can recall that during their childhood they answered the phone to have the likes of Bill Harrah, Bill Hamlin, Frances Ford Copula and others on the other end. Not too many people refer to Dave Cammeck as "Uncle Dave" either. Vacations were a chance to drive to some obscure museum to watch Dad crawl under and photograph a Tucker. His garage has been the home to more Tuckers then any other - save the facility used during filming. I've had the privilege to have drove #22. I was there when once again the shocks would fail on #22 and we would watch helplessly as it settled back onto its rear axel. I was there when Dad was creating his own blueprints of #'s 22 & 26 because each of these cars had subtle (and some not so subtle!) differences between each other. I learned to hate any reference to the Tucker automatic transmission. And I was there the numerous times Dad cut, bruised and burned himself as he restored those cars. To the members and friends who have already come to his support -- Thank you! Let us hope that the next time someone decides to question the authority of a Tucker Living Legend - they at least do some research and find out about that person before doing so!
Golly, what more can I say except "THANKS" for all the recognition, compliments and praise. I have enjoyed my many years of research and work on the Tucker automobiles.
Hi all,
I just wanted to tell all of you that the car can be bought in peices or partialy together or in the full car state turn key ready and inspected the body kit will be in the $8,000 range the full turn key car will not be as much as an IDA car and will look like an closer to an origanal. Production is to start after Jan. 1st, 2004. If everything goes as planned as it seems to be. I already have the motor and rolling chassis its like a go cart looking thing and the first test drive was last week everything came out real smooth too. Thank You for the interest!!!!!!
Tucker Replicas

Postby dualconvertors » Thu Jun 05, 2003 1:48 pm

I am typically not the type of person who speaks poorly of others (especially in the automotive hobby), but I find I must speak my mind in the case of Mr. Brett Ping, a.k.a. franklinflat6 a.k.a. pingding22. I have enjoyed my membership to the club and all that it offers, especially the interesting topics spawned on this discussion board by Tucker enthusiasts. This has changed slightly since Mr. Ping stole onto the scene earlier this year with his inane, repetitive and ignorant questions. In his short tenure infesting the bulletin board, Mr. Ping has manged to insult Tucker icon Richard Jones, start topics with responses to only himself and end many an interesting topic by skewing off on an uninteligible tangent or to plug his plug of a car. If one can decipher Mr. Pings messages through the mispelled words, grammatical errors and many a run on sentence, you will gather that over the past 3 months this illustrious VW mechanic, Body and Paint expert, college student and Proprietor of Beast Automotive intends to build the Tucker combat car and mass produce the [new] Tucker 48. This is quite a lofty goal to undertake considering he just recently learned what a Tucker was. You must have exorbitant amounts of money to undertake such tasks, which is good, because you will need it in life to manage Mr. Ping. Being the learned college man that you are, why don't you try picking up a book for answers instead of taking up space on this or any other site and wasting the time of the esteemed individuals associated with it with basic questions that Francis Ford Coppola did not answer. Surely by now you must realize that movies (however good they may be) are not predicated on complete fact and filled with all the answers. Although Mr. Ping goes to great lengths to discredit himself (as referenced over the past months) I write this to point out the harsh truth to those who agree, don't closely follow the board or are new and see his graffiti pasted in any number of locations. Don't take his automotive visions of grandure serious, save your time, he intends only to waste it. It is a shame that even after 50+ years charletons such as the likes of Mr. Ping are still trying to exploit the Tucker for personal gain. If you have a hard time with any of the big words in this message Brett, just post a question and I'm sure some dutiful enthusiast will come to your aid as usual. Do us a favor though, don't kill yourself on your foreign VW powered "go cart thingy", we wouldn't want anyone to think that Tuckers are unsafe...

Thanks to dualconverters for setting the record straight on Bret Ping aka franklinflat6 aka pingding and possibly other email addresses. Its amazing to me how he can suddenly come up with plans and details on building a Tucker when just a few weeks ago he contacted me wanting me to loan him $5,000.00 to put with what he said was his $3,000.00 to purchase the dies needed to build such a vehicle. I don't believe Mr. Ping for one moment and anyone dealing with him should use caution.
THE LAST WORD (I can have it!)

Postby TuckerCar » Fri Jun 06, 2003 7:21 am

I must admit, I have given very frequent and serious thought to asking Mr. Ping to limit his posts, spell check them, or at least place all his updates under the same subject.

There are much more inappropriate and offensive postings that most of you do not see, usually made by unregistered users that come and go. I delete them before you ever see them.

However, one of my tasks as administrator of this board is to allow all those who want to post the right to do so. As long as the postings are somewhat Tucker-related and there is nothing in there that is potentially offensive to others (especially me, ha ha), I tend to let them go.

Those of you who have been on this board for the past few years can no doubt recall several others who have caused "trouble," either as morons or as one of the umpteen New Tucker 48 builders. If they are the 12 year-old imposters that we assume they are, they eventually go away.

Trust me; if I deleted every posting I thought was stupid, rude, or below a third grade reading level, we would have 5 people on this board.

In either case, I found dualconverter's posting to be absolutely hilarious, and that is the only reason that I am not deleting this entire subject. It is, however, closed.

Thanks! See ya in Grand Rapids!
